PRODUCTION FACILITIES

The production suite of approximately 180m2 is entered through a grade D air lock and gowning room into the controlled access corridor (grade D). This gives immediate access to the four grade D rooms:

  • Two production laboratories used for bacterial culture and fermentation, cell lysis and product extraction.

  • One mammalian cell culture lab containing microprocessor controlled fermentation systems for large-scale cell culture in a closed system.

  • One utility and secure storage area

The three grade B rooms are accessed from the controlled access corridor through a grade B gowning room.

  • Two of these grade B rooms, each housing GE Healthcare AKTA FPLC systems for biomolecule purification, equipment for viral filtration and tangential flow diafiltration equipment, are used as downstream processing laboratories.

  • The third grade B room is used for final aseptic filling of product.
